Welcome to Laurita Martial Arts Academy, we opened in September of 1999, under the direction of Master Jerry Laurita. Since that time, we have progressed to become one of the most honored and respected martial arts schools in Arizona. Laurita Martial Arts Academy has won numerous awards, including "Best of Phoenix New Times" in 2003 and we were voted as one of the "Top 200 Schools" in America by Black Belt Schools International in 2004. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality training possible in a positive and friendly atmosphere. We offer classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kids Karate and Haidong Gumdo (Samurai Sword).
The Martial Arts were practiced centuries ago in Asia for self-defense and to improve the overall quality of life. Today, people of all ages from all walks of life are beginning their Martial Arts training at Laurita Martial Arts Academy. Some students want to learn self-defense while others are primarily interested in physical fitness or building their confidence and some just want to have fun. Whatever your reason for training with us, you will find others with similar interests and goals. We all want to reach our full potential we all want to be our best. Children (4-12 years old): The most powerful gift you can give your child is positive self-esteem. Positive self-esteem empowers your child to achieve in all areas of their life, from the school room to the playground. Through our carefully structured programs of self-defense, physical fitness and fun, your child will be equipped with the attributes of success including, Self-Esteem, Positive Attitude, Increased Focus, Concentration and Self-Discipline! Teenagers (13-17 years old): Martial Arts is particularly helpful during this rebellious phase of life. By learning, knowing and maintaining the Martial Arts system of hierarchy teens cultivate friendships, learn discipline, become self-confident and develop respect for others. Adults (18-39 years old): Martial Arts offers men and women a health and fitness program while combining flexibility, endurance, weight loss and muscle toning. Martial Arts also develops' friendships, self-discipline, self-confidence and self-esteem. Executives (40-59 years old): Training in Martial Arts helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol while relieving stress, increasing your energy, muscle tone and stamina in a fun and friendly but safe environment. Seniors (60 and over): Through Martial Arts training, seniors can discover solutions for muscle pain and atrophy, gain flexibility, endurance and muscle strength while enhancing and prolonging quality of life and enjoying the security of knowing how to defend oneself.
